About the Opportunity
Due to an exciting period of growth, we are currently looking for a full-time Loans Officer to join our team.
This is a mobile position, that will give you the opportunity to work with our incredibly diverse teams in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Surrey, and Port Coquitlam branches!
More specifically, your essential responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative support to the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operation of the branch lending department
- Delivering top-notch consultation to members to identify financial needs, approve loan applications, or cross-selling of products
- Granting loans within approved lending limits to members (e.g., personal loans, mortgages, lines of credit, business loans, etc.)
- Preparing renewal and modification documentation for loans, mortgages, lines of credit, and other products and services
- Promoting and selling Ethical and Third Party Mutual Funds, and other investment products and services
- Adhering to all audits, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to mitigate risks of fraud or loss
- Training and instructing Loans Interviewers on lending policies, procedures, and documentation best practices
About You
To qualify, you will need at least 1 year of experience working in the financial industry with previous lending experience. A Mutual Funds License, or the ability to obtain one, is also required. We will also consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates with a minimum of 6-12 months experience as a Loans Officer, may also be considered.
Knowledge, skills, or background in the following will also be required for this role:
- Lending policies, procedures, techniques, and documentation requirements
- Credit Union operations
- Underwriting procedures and practices
- Sales and marketing techniques, preferably in the financial services sector
- Risk, loss, and fraud prevention
- Proven leadership and coaching skills
- Computer proficiency
- A reliable vehicle or ability to get to different Community Savings branches in the Greater Vancouver area
You will play an integral part in communicating with Branch Managers, multiple teams, and our valued members. For this reason, we are looking for candidates with a collaborative attitude, impeccable communication skills, and the innate ability to make your clients feel valued and listened to.
Lastly, you are a solutions-focused quick learner with proven abilities to multitask, impeccable attention to detail, and positive mindset.
